  • About
  • Oh, hai! One of the most frequent questions asked of creative individuals concerns the source of inspiration. The answer, of course, is everywhere. Where I live in Washington state, whether it be from walking around the neighborhood, or taking a hard mountain bike ride, or talking with my friends, many of whom are also artists. Sometimes it's from where I grew up in Montana, or where I was born in sans serif-loving Germany, or where I studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design or finally got a BFA at Oklahoma City University.

Often, especially with design work, it's seeing how other people have solved difficult problems that need better and better solutions all the time. I love that every day there are new things to see, that design and art have organically evolved in real time, via technologies like the internet and mobile devices.

The real secret to inspiration though, is in the gingersnap cookies, my dog Buck (the world's best rottweiler), and the three magic beans I once got out of a vending machine.
